MINNESOTA FARMERS' MARKET HUBS

Welcome to our page on articles about the Minnesota Farmers' Market Food Hubs Project! For more information on this work, visit the Minnesota Farmers' Market Hubs webpage directly at: https://www.farmersmarkethub.org/

What is a food hub? Great question. Many people haven't heard this term much yet. We are trying to change that. Renewing the Countryside, MFMA, and the MISA are partnering on a project that is utilizing farmers' markets in Minnesota to bring together product from multiple farmers and offer it to larger-scale buyers such as restaurants, schools, grocery stores, etc. This is a food hub! Farmers often don't have enough time or product to reach larger markets on their own. Buyers can't always deal with separate accounts for multiple farmers. A food hub helps both by serving as a central connection.
