Product of the Farm or Cottage Food?

Tuesday | December 2, 2023 |10am-12pm

As a food farmer, it's critical you know the food laws and rules that impact your business. Depending on the food you grow & sell, your options include to sell under the product of the farm exclusion from licensing, or the cottage foods exemption from license, or invest in a food license. This class walks you through the nuances, including when a HACCP or other processes / permits might be required, even if a license is not.

MFMA provides services, programs, and leadership that support and promote farmers' markets across Minnesota and our Tribal Nations.

We envision a community of vibrant, profitable, and professionally managed Minnesota farmers’ markets that:

                    • Cultivates, nourishes, and inspires a vibrant local foods community;
                    • Provides accessibility to all to local farm fresh foods;
                    • Allows local food producers to thrive and grow;
                    • Ensures these opportunities are available to everyone regardless of ethnicity, age, gender identity, or economic standing.
