MN Farmers Market Academy-Redwood Falls

The Academy will feature a session on the Minnesota Cottage Food Law that went into effect July 1, 2015.  This session, presented by Suzanne Driessen, food safety educator with the UME, will qualify for the training mandated by the law for anyone selling cottage foods and it will be good through 2018. MFMA will assist participants at each site to register that day with the MDA, in order to be compliant with the law.

Ryan Pesch, UME’s community economics educator, will send participants home with marketing and pricing strategies and spreadsheets to help vendors stay profitable in their business ventures, whether they are selling produce, eggs, jams, jellies, baked goods, or crafts. Seasoned and successful MFMA Board Directors will round out the workshops with proven tactics on growing and financing the markets themselves.

The Academy is free to MFMA members; $35 to non-members. MFMA is offering a “New Member Special” for this Academy: participants can become members at a 50% membership discount of $35 and then attend the Academy for free.
