MFMA Sponsorship Program

The number of farmers markets in Minnesota has grown steadily over the last 10 years.  As these community markets continue to grow so does the need for technical assistance, resources, products, and services.  MFMA celebrates the role of private organizations and businesses in helping serve the diverse needs of the farmers’ market community.  As the leading state organization representing the more than 200 farmers’ markets (and their vendors) in Minnesota, the MFMA is a strong learning and networking hub for farmers’ market managers, farmers’ market vendors, and state and regional farmers’ market associations.

The MFMA Sponsorship Program provides eligible merchants and service providers an opportunity to promote their business or organization to farmers’ market vendors, managers, organizers and customers throughout the state.  The MFMA accepts sponsorships for its work to raise public awareness of farmers’ markets as engines of entrepreneurship, economic sustainability, and diversified local and regional food systems.

To maximize our impact as a 501(c)(6) organization, we need your help.  Your sponsorship at any level will help us achieve our mission of strengthening farmers’ markets for the benefit of farmers, consumers, and communities.

Why the MFMA is a good investment for your marketing $

Statewide media exposure of farmers’ markets grows steadily throughout the year, with a crescendo during National Farmers’ Market Week (the first week in August), when federal, state, and local governments issue press releases and thousands of farmers’ markets sponsor events and special promotions.  Nevertheless, market organizers seek information and resources all year round.  After a few short months, our newly-designed website has increased its exposure by 600% with 3,000+ unique visits each month from farmers’ market sponsors, market managers, farmers, educators and customers.  MFMA’s quarterly newsletter will reach an expected 500 direct subscribers in early 2012, and is also actively forwarded and posted through statewide networks to hundreds more.

Whether your target audience is farmers, individual markets or the average farmers’ market consumer, the MFMA offers you a unique opportunity to be recognized as an ally in the growing movement to strengthen and promote farmers’ markets as vehicles for community health & agricultural viability.

Who is an eligible sponsor?

Eligibility of potential partners will be determined at the discretion of MFMA, based upon a variety of factors, including public reputation, relevance to the farmers’ market community at large, and value/quality of the product or service.  MFMA will not enter into exclusive sponsorship agreements, meaning that it retains the right to accept sponsorships from more than one corporate entity in a given product/service category.
